Israeli army attacks continued this Saturday in Gaza, leaving at least 21 Palestinians dead. 12 of them, according to the Wafa news agency, were killed trying to get aid in the Netzarim corridor. The IDF launched attacks in various areas of Gaza where it carried out grenade launches in most of them.
According to local medical sources, at least five members of the same family were killed in an attack on their home in Al-Zawayda, in the center of the enclave, while 5 other people were killed in a drone attack on a refugee camp north of Khan Younis.
The Israeli military this Saturday said in a statement that the attacks will continue unabated if an agreement with Hamas is not reached. Meanwhile, CNN reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's decision regarding a possible military action in the Gaza Strip has been postponed to next week.
A source close to Netanyahu told US media that the annexation plan will take effect if Hamas does not accept the ceasefire proposals, talks for which have been abandoned for the time being. This week, Hamas withdrew from the negotiations after communicating to negotiators that it would return to the table after the humanitarian situation in Gaza improved.
With negotiations stalled in the meantime, humanitarian organizations are shaking their balance sheets. UNICEF says that since the beginning of the war in Gaza, 18 thousand children have been killed, with a frightening average of 28 children a day.
UNicef Deputy Executive Director Ted Ahciban said after a field mission that in Gaza a class of children has practically been killed, who are no longer there, while many of the rest have lost their loved ones, they are hungry, frightened and traumatized.
