Official Moscow has reacted immediately, following the ultimatum from US President Donald Trump and European leaders for "severe sanctions" if Russia refuses to agree to a 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine.

The first reaction from Moscow came through Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, who explained that Moscow "has already become accustomed to sanctions," reports the TASS agency.

"We know what we need to do to minimize their impact. Now we have learned to do it well. It makes no sense for them to try to scare us with these sanctions," Peskov said.

"Ukraine is not ready for talks with Russia to end the war," Peskov added in an interview with ABC News.

At the moment, “Russian troops are advancing,” he stressed. He also claimed, commenting on the presence of senior European leaders in Kiev, that “some were concerned by the presence of many leaders at yesterday’s Victory Day celebrations in Moscow,” where Chinese President Xi was among those in attendance.

We recall that at the meeting of leaders of the "alliance of the willing" held earlier in Kiev, European leaders, with the support of US President Donald Trump, agreed to a 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine without conditions from May 12, threatening Russian President Vladimir Putin with the imposition of new "massive" sanctions if he does not implement them.

The announcement was made by the leaders of Britain, France, Germany, Poland and Ukraine, following their meeting, during which they had a phone conversation with President Trump, even claiming that now "the ball is in Russia's court."
