Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Milos Vucevic said central Serbian citizens should not be "irritated" at the decision to have vehicles with RKS (Republic of Kosovo) license plates moved freely in Serbia, saying it serves kosovo's empty policies.
"Why are we getting nervous? Let them travel. There will be 300,000, 500,000 people (in the EU, after visa liberalisation). Let's be a little politically wise, we need a little bit of Milos Obrenović's policy, a little patience (Milos Obrenović is one of the first inspirations of the Serbian holy doctrine for the annihilation and expulsion of Albanians from their lands). It's not all right now," Said Vucevic.
He said that he should look at the broader picture of who wins and who loses, saying that Serbia "loses nothing and gains nothing" with that decision.
"I read somewhere a comment that we allowed Albanians from Kosovo to travel with their travel documents. So where do they travel? They travel to countries where their visas have been revoced. So what are you upset about? Be a bit politically savvy. What is the problem they are going to in Switzerland, Germany or wherever they go? What are we supposed to do, ghettoization? Let them go where they think it's best. Their allies have taken away their visas, so let them go there," Vucevic said.
According to him, the fact that Serbia allows Kosovo residents to travel through Serbia, using documentation or license plates issued by the administration in Pristina, "absolutely does not mean recognition of kosovo's so-called independence".
"We put a note everywhere to leave someone on the territory of central Serbia with those plates, with that ID, travel document issued by Pristina, does not mean recognition of Kosovo's independence, nor serbia will ever recognize the independence of what they call the Republic of Kosovo," he said.
