Thousands of videos, photos and documents - Pentagon releases

Following the order issued by President Donald Trump in February, the Pentagon released this Friday what it describes as "previously unseen files" on UFOs and unidentified aerial phenomena.

The documents have been made public through official Department of Defense platforms, reigniting debate and interest in the possibility of the existence of extraterrestrial life.

In a statement on the social network X, the Pentagon announced that US citizens can now have immediate access to declassified materials related to UAPs, the modern term for UFOs.

According to authorities, videos, photographs and original documents from various federal institutions have been collected in a single location and can be consulted without the need for special security clearance.

The Department of Defense also warned that the release of materials will continue periodically, while other documents will be declassified and released every few weeks.

Interest in unidentified phenomena increased significantly in February, when former US President Barack Obama declared during a podcast that “aliens exist, but I have not seen them.” Obama later clarified his statement by emphasizing that during his presidency he had not seen evidence confirming contact with Earth by extraterrestrial beings.

Following this wave of discussions, Trump ordered the Pentagon and other relevant agencies to begin the process of identifying and publishing documents related to extraterrestrial life, UFOs, and unidentified aerial phenomena.

NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman also welcomed the transparency initiative, stating that research and exploration remain at the heart of NASA's mission to uncover the secrets of the universe.
