The registration process in Kosovo is closed, what is the population?

The Kosovo Statistics Agency officially announced the closure of the population and housing census process.

Through a press conference, the head of this institution, Avni Kastrati, after evaluating all those who became part of this important project, gave the estimates that it is not completely finished, but approximately Kosovo is expected to have 1.6 million inhabitants.

"It is a big day for Kosovo and for everyone. Major project that has value in several areas. KAS thanks everyone for cooperation in this population census process. Kosovo is expected to have 1.6 million inhabitants", he emphasized.

Kastrati added that 600,000 citizens living in the diaspora have been registered in this process, adding that he expects the number to increase after the deadline has been postponed until August.

Kastrati also announced that part of the data will be published during the month of July, while the final data will be shown after 6 months.

He announced that all communities participated in the population census process, but only a part of the Serbs in the north refused the census.
