The framework agreement reached between the United States and Iran has brought positive reactions from the European Union, which sees the development as an opportunity to reduce tensions and continue diplomatic dialogue.

The President of the European Council, Antonio Costa, stated that he expects an end to the costly conflict and stressed that disputes should be resolved through peaceful means.

Meanwhile, EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas described the agreement as a "potential breakthrough."

According to her, this step could create the necessary space for deeper negotiations between the parties and help achieve a long-term solution.

Kallas added that European Union foreign ministers will discuss ways in which the EU can be more closely involved in the next stages of the diplomatic process.
