Aleksandar Vucic announces resignation after protests against him in Serbia

Serbian President Aleksandar Vu?i? has stated that he plans to resign from the post of head of state within the next three to four months.

During a public statement, Vu?i? also announced that the ruling party, the Serbian Progressive Party, will organize a large rally in Belgrade on June 27, where part of the electoral program for the upcoming elections will be presented.

According to Vu?i?, his departure from the presidency is expected to occur in the coming months, while the SNS intends to use the June 27 rally to publicly present some of the main points of its political platform.

The statement comes at an important period for the Serbian political scene, as the country is facing internal political challenges and preparations for new electoral processes.

It remains to be seen whether Vu?i?'s announcement will be followed by concrete steps towards leaving the post of president and how this will affect the political balance in Serbia.

Serbia and Belgrade have long been engulfed by student protests demanding his downfall.
