After the attack that Russia launched today in Ukraine for occupation has come the harsh reaction of NATO.
NATO agreed on Thursday to strengthen its ground, naval and air forces on its eastern flank near Ukraine and Russia after President Vladimir Putin ordered a military offensive in Ukraine.
"We are deploying additional ground and air defense forces in the eastern part of the alliance, as well as additional naval means," NATO ambassadors said in a statement following urgent talks.
"We have increased the readiness of our forces to respond to all contingencies," the statement said.
While some of NATO's 30 member states are supplying Ukraine with weapons, ammunition and other equipment, NATO as a non-NATO organization. It will not launch any military action in support of Ukraine, which is a close partner but has no prospect of joining.
