The US president said the US economy remains on the path to recovery, despite the pressures of high energy prices.
Speaking in West Palm Beach, he referred to his first and second terms, emphasizing that, despite the difficulties, the situation will normalize.
He stated that the current situation is a "round trip", mainly due to developments related to Iran, expressing confidence that the economy will soon return to normal.
Trump noted that core inflation is at a five-year low, but singled out oil and gas prices as a key problem. Prices have hit four-year highs amid geopolitical tensions and supply constraints. Despite the rise, he sounded optimistic, noting that once the war is over, “prices will drop like a rock.”
The US decision to maintain the blockade of Iranian ports, a measure implemented since mid-April, plays a decisive role in the price increase. This choice has limited the supply of energy on international markets, reinforcing the upward trend in prices.
Donald Trump directly links the price trend to geopolitical developments, estimating that the reduction in tensions will lead to a significant decrease in energy costs.
