"When 5 minutes have passed and...", Elon Musk mocks Zelensky

The Ukrainian parliament has reacted to a meme posted by Elon Musk mocking Ukraine, more specifically President Zelensky.

Elon Musk, who provides satellite communications services vital to Ukraine's defense efforts, targeted the level of aid requested by Volodymyr Zelenskyy to defend against a full-scale invasion by Russia.

"When 5 minutes have passed and you haven't asked for 1 billion dollars of help", was written in the meme posted by Musk.

The Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada MP responded with the same meme using Musk's face, with the caption: "When five minutes have passed and you haven't spread Russian propaganda."

Ukrainian officials have previously criticized Tesla's chief executive for proposing to hold UN-supervised elections in the occupied regions to determine whether they remain part of Ukraine.

Starlink became a point of contention last month when Musk revealed that he rejected a Ukrainian request last year to activate the network in the Crimean port city of Sevastopol to aid an attack on the Russian fleet.

Vladimir Putin previously called Musk "an outstanding person" when asked about the success of his company SpaceX, which developed Starlink.
