The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has reacted in relation to the case of Peja, where an elderly woman was raped by the workers of the asylum where she was staying.

Kurti calls what happened terrible, while announcing that the institutions are committed to the case.

Full reaction:

What we saw today was terrible. There is no citizen who is not shocked, and the institutions, upon learning of the attack on the mother, the elderly woman, in the Shelter Center in Peja, have been activated and have acted.

The elderly are our dearest. They have contributed to society in so many ways for longer than the rest of us. We will stand by them both with governmental decisions and responsibilities, as well as with citizen support and care.

Public opinion has been shocked by the violence that the employee Aurona Pelaj has exercised against the elderly in an asylum in Peja, Kosovo. The employee is seen slapping and kicking the elderly woman in the stomach while the other girls film her and laugh.

The elderly woman is the mother of the martyr Taulant Nura. She was taken out of envy by her daughter, Zhaneta Nura, who said that 4 or 5 days ago she noticed signs of violence on her mother's face.

Nura has stated that for her mother's accommodation in this center, her family paid 600 euros per month, also covering the costs of clothing and medical therapy.
