The Russian military has lost momentum in its all-out offensive against Ukraine and on the third day of fighting has not yet taken over any major administrative centers of the country.
The overnight fighting center was Kiev, where the Ukrainian military says it has 'cleared' the city streets and neighborhoods of Russian troops infiltrating Ukrainian army uniforms.
Shots, explosions and fierce battle took place up to Victory Square, a historic area of Kiev and near the country's government buildings.
Ukraine's Defense Ministry announced it had neutralized several groups of Russian saboteurs, while urging citizens to be vigilant. She publicly denounced that in addition to bombing nurseries, hospitals and other civilian buildings, the Russians are also using tactics that constitute war crimes, such as dressing in enemy uniforms and using forged local documentation.
Ukraine says it has killed more than 3,500 Russian soldiers, captured 200 others, destroyed 14 planes, eight helicopters, more than 102 tanks and more than 1,000 armored vehicles and artillery.
