Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, reiterated his promise that Israel "will be punished" for the "grave mistake" it has committed. In a televised address to the nation, he declared that the people will not forget the blood of the martyrs and the attack on their territory.
"Iran will not accept an imposed peace or war. Those who know Iran's history know that we do not accept threats," Khamenei declared.
He responded to the US threat with a threat, saying that if they attack, they will be "rewarded" with irreparable damage.
"Anyone who knows Iran, its people and its history would never address this nation in threatening tones, because Iran will not surrender. The Americans should know that any military intervention on their part will undoubtedly be rewarded with irreparable damage," Khamenei said.
According to him, "this nation will not surrender to anyone in the face of imposition. Israel has made a big mistake and will be punished."
