Thousands of travelers around the world are facing multiple flight cancellations this Friday after Israel launched an attack on Iran. Airspace across Iran, Iraq, Israel and Jordan was plunged into chaos after Israel launched a barrage of missiles at Iran overnight. It caused dozens of flights to be diverted, leaving thousands of passengers stranded.
Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion Airport is closed until further notice and major airlines, including Emirates, Lufthansa, Air France, United and Delta, have canceled flights to the region.

Flights between Tirana and Tel Aviv were also canceled on Friday. Following the attack, Iran, Iraq, Jordan and Syria also closed their airspace. Aviation authorities in Iran have closed the country's airspace until further notice, according to state media reports.
The country's eastern border with Iran is one of the world's busiest air traffic corridors, with many flights from Europe to Asia passing through. Eurocontrol estimates that at least 1,800 flights have been affected so far to and from Europe alone.
Air traffic is being diverted either south, via Egypt and Saudi Arabia, or north, via Turkey, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan. 29 flights with 2,427 passengers were diverted to Cyprus. 20 flights from Europe and the US landed in Larnaca and 9 in Paphos.
Passengers were offered hotel rooms, local media said. If you have a flight booked to the affected countries, including Lebanon, Jordan and Azerbaijan, you are advised to closely monitor airline and airport websites for updates.
