According to the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, contamination, whether chemical or radioactive, has been detected inside the Natanz nuclear facility, but not outside the complex, following this morning's Israeli attack.
Mohammad Islami, the head of the organization, added that there was no cause for concern outside the plant, but internal cleanup efforts were necessary.
"As far as we know, the damage is limited to surface areas," he said, adding that there were no human casualties in the Israeli attacks.
"For years, this [Israeli] regime, with the direct support of the United States, has taken reckless steps to destroy global peace and security," he said, Al Jazeera reports.
Earlier, the International Atomic Energy Agency had stated that there was no increase in radiation at the Iranian plant.
