Iran attacks US base in Bahrain

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it had struck the US Juffair base in Bahrain, claiming it had been used to attack an Iranian desalination plant earlier in the day.

In a statement published on its official website, the IRGC said the attack was carried out with precision-guided solid and liquid-fueled missiles.

"In response to the aggression of American terrorists from the Juffair base against the desalination plant in Qeshm, this American base was immediately struck," the statement said.

Meanwhile, Bahraini authorities confirmed that an Iranian attack has caused a fire in the capital Manama, damaging a residence and several surrounding buildings.

According to Bahrain's Interior Ministry, the attack caused material damage, while civil defense teams are engaged in extinguishing the flames.
