Iran attacks Azerbaijan airport

A drone attack has hit the area of ??Nakhchivan International Airport, an enclave of Azerbaijan, bordering Iran and Turkey.

According to the Trend news agency, the drone originating from Iranian territory crashed into an airport building and exploded near a high school in the village of Shakakabad, in the Babek region.

Firefighters and ambulances immediately responded to the scene. Local authorities are assessing the consequences of the incident and the situation in the affected area.

Videos from the site of the strike showed extensive damage and clouds of black smoke. The state-run Azerbaijani news agency APA reported, adding that other drones were downed "in other locations" in the country, without giving further details. Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry summoned the Iranian ambassador after the attack.
