Albania's southern neighbor, Greece, has decided to join the measures taken by other European countries to impose measures against passengers from China. They must present a negative Covid test 48 hours before departure to Athens.

Also, apart from the Covid test, travelers from China are recommended to use a mask and be vaccinated. The authorities in Greece have stated that there will be a periodic reassessment of these measures and they will be implemented for a certain period.

"Regarding the epidemiological situation of the COVID-19 pandemic in China and its treatment and following the recommendations of the competent committee of the European Union, the preventive measures proposed by EODY for our country are as follows:

"Mandatory demonstration of a negative diagnostic test result (rapid antigen detection test, or molecular test) of all travelers on direct flights from China, 48 hours before their departure," the response states, among other things.

It is not known whether Albania will undertake such a decision, when only a few days ago the Council of Ministers approved visa-free travel between Albania and China. Also, a flu wave has spread in the country that has filled the hospitals, which cannot be ruled out to be covid.
