The "Open Balkan" initiative will end with the disappearance of several states. This is what the president of Montenegro, Milo Djukanovic, has declared.
During an interview for the Malaysian portal "Vojvodina Autonomija", Djukanovic stated that the "Open Balkans" initiative will end with the disappearance of Montenegro, Kosovo, North Macedonia and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
According to him, this initiative is a one-scenario for the countries of the Western Balkans outside the EU and according to him, its initiators like the idea of changing borders and ethnic and religious homogenization within the enlarged states. He declares that this started from the Serbian side.
Two questions about this topic:
Do you oppose Prime Minister Abazovic's next priority - Open Balkan?
GJUKANOVIĆ : Yes, it is very controversial. It is about an alternative scenario for the future of the Western Balkans outside the EU. That we don't need. We need EU membership. Those who do not see our region in Europe, do not see multi-ethnic democracy in the Balkans either. They like the idea of border changes, ethnic and religious homogenization within enlarged states. As usual, everything traditionally starts from the Serbian side, this time the "Serbian world". And it continues, automatically, with the same big state oppressors.
Do we know how it ends?
GJUKANOVIĆ : Of course. It must end with the disappearance of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kosovo and North Macedonia. But it is certain that it would have ended in war and several more genocides.
