A serious incident has shaken the island of Crete, where a 54-year-old man shot and killed a 20-year-old man in the Amoudara area of ??Heraklion, for revenge.

According to Greek authorities, the perpetrator had ambushed the young man, blocking his path with a car and opening fire while he was still inside the vehicle. The victim tried to run away, but was pursued by the aggressor, who continued shooting until he left him for dead in a rented room.

The 20-year-old was transported to the University Hospital of Heraklion, where doctors confirmed his death. The victim's family is in a state of shock.

Immediately after the crime, the 54-year-old turned himself in to police, admitting responsibility. He is expected to face serious charges.

The incident is related to a road accident that occurred in 2023, where the author's 17-year-old son lost his life after several days in the hospital. Since then, the author considered the victim responsible for the tragedy.

Investigations have also uncovered previous episodes of violence. Meanwhile, police have also detained the perpetrator's wife, who is suspected of being present at the time of the crime and may have collaborated.

Authorities are continuing investigations to fully clarify the circumstances, in a case that brings back to mind the chain of revenge in Crete.
