The final decision in the trial of former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army at the Specialist Chambers in The Hague has been postponed to July 20, 2026.

The confirmation of the postponement of the announcement of the decision was made to RTK by the lawyer of the former President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, Luka Mishetic, who confirmed the accuracy of the information reported in the media.

"I can confirm that this is correct," Misetic stated.

Initially, the final decision was scheduled to be announced on May 19, within the established procedural deadlines. However, according to the Rules of Procedure of the Special Court, the trial panel has 90 days to announce the verdict, with the possibility of an extension of up to an additional 60 days.

Since November 2020, the 4 former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selimi, and Jakup Krasniqi have been in solitary confinement in The Hague, accused of war crimes and crimes against humanity.

In February of this year, they appeared before the Special Court for the third time to give their statements, while the process began in April 2023. In each of their statements, the fight for freedom, innocence, an independent Kosovo, massacres by the Serbian regime, and pride in the KLA were loudly shouted.

Defense attorneys pleaded their innocence and denied the accusations raised by the prosecution, describing them as unfounded or untrue.
