Extraordinary elections, Abdixhiku: We will compete together with Vjosa Osmani

The leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Lumir Abdixhiku, has announced that an agreement has been reached to run together with former President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, in the extraordinary parliamentary elections on June 7.

He said that by voting within the party body, it was decided to convene the LDK General Council on Saturday, with the aim of finalizing these processes.

"We agreed to formalize the joint competition with Vjosa Osmani in the upcoming elections," he stated in a brief statement to the media after the meeting with the heads of LDK branches.

LDK's cooperation with Vjosa Osmani, according to Abdixhiku, is on a common list within LDK.

"There are no other parties within the LDK list, we can have small coalitions with other parties, now we are talking about cooperation within the LDK," he explained.

He added that this union means building relationships based on trust and that it is not about imposing conditions between the parties.

"We have not had any conditions with Vjosa. It is not a relationship of conditions, it is a relationship of understanding the need for everyone within the LDK to unite, and this means that we build relationships based on trust," he said.

Asked if Osmani will be the bearer of the LDK list, Abdixhiku emphasized that he has no problem with such a thing.

However, he said he sees Osmani as the "right" candidate for the post of president.

"Without any problem. I believe that Vjosa Osmani should be the excellent and most suitable candidate for president. The people want such a thing and I am ready to provide the people with such a candidacy. The ranking on the list does not matter," he added.

According to Abdixhiku, the meeting also discussed the "great unification" to which the party is committed.

Otherwise, Osmani stated that he did not ask to be in the first four names in the top 10 of the Democratic League of Kosovo, emphasizing that he did not ask for any position from anyone.

Osmani, in front of journalists, again refused to confirm whether he will run in the June 7 extraordinary parliamentary elections and for which position he may be running.

"It's not good to speculate. I have never asked for any position from anyone. Whenever we have something to tell you, we will tell you," she declared.
