Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has stated that the war against Hamas will only end after the second phase of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip is implemented, which includes the complete disarmament of Hamas.

In an interview with Channel 14, Netanyahu said that "the second phase means the disarmament of Hamas, or more precisely, the demilitarization of Gaza and the confiscation of all their weapons."

"Once this is successfully concluded, hopefully by simple means, but if necessary, by force, then the war will end, " he added.

Netanyahu, who is currently facing corruption charges in an open trial, also confirmed that he will run again for the post of prime minister in the upcoming parliamentary elections.

The leader of the right-wing Likud party, Netanyahu holds the record as the longest-serving prime minister in Israeli history, with 18 years in power, intermittently, since 1996.
