Five people have been detained in Kosovo for the criminal offense of "violating the free determination of voters", the State Prosecutor announced.
The Basic Prosecution Office in Mitrovica has initiated two separate cases regarding this criminal offense, after receiving information from citizens about electoral violations.
The State Prosecutor said that he has engaged nearly 100 prosecutors and system staff for the electoral process, in order to process any possible irregularities in the elections.
"Prosecutors will remain in their offices in cities where basic prosecution offices exist, while in those places where the Prosecution Office does not have a facility, prosecutors will remain in police stations, where in cooperation with Kosovo Police investigators they will be in defense of the free vote of citizens," the announcement said.
This institution called on citizens, parties and other institutions to report any case they suspect of voter abuse.
Likewise, the Kosovo Police announced that it is implementing its plan for election day, in coordination with the Prosecution Office, to protect the vote.
