US bombings in Iran, Papa Leone: Stop the tragedy of war before it's too
Pope Leone

Pope Leone has called for the "tragedy of war to be stopped before it is too late" following the US bombing of Iran's nuclear plants.

"Today more than ever, humanity cries out and calls for peace: it is a cry that demands responsibility and reason and must not be drowned out by the roar of weapons and by rhetorical words that incite conflict," the Pope said.

He added, "Stop the tragedy of war before it turns into an irreparable abyss."

According to the Holy Father, “war does not solve problems, on the contrary it amplifies them and produces deep wounds in the history of a people that take generations to heal.”

"Let diplomacy silence its weapons," Pope Leo called.
