At least 11 people were killed and more than 30 injured on Friday when a tour bus veered off the road and overturned in the western Mexican state of Nayarit.
The bus, carrying tourists from the state of Jalisco, veered off the road and overturned near the town of Amatlan de Cañas, local authorities said. The cause of the accident remains unclear.
Six passengers were pronounced dead, while five injured people died in hospital.
Fatal traffic accidents are common in Mexico. Last September, at least 10 people were killed and more than 60 injured when a freight train hit a double-decker bus in central Mexico.
In February 2025, more than 40 people died in the southern part of the country when a bus traveling from Tabasco to Cancun collided with a truck and burst into flames.
