US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that he and First Lady Melania Trump have been deeply affected by images of mass starvation coming out of Gaza.
Trump said Melania thinks what's happening is terrible.
He added that she sees the same pictures that we all see.
" She thinks it's terrible. And she sees the same pictures that you see, that all of us see. And I think everybody, unless they're very cold-hearted, or worse than that, crazy, there's nothing you can say except it's terrible when you see the children. They're children, you know, whether they talk about hunger or not, they're children who are suffering from hunger, " he told reporters aboard Air Force One as he traveled from Scotland to Washington, D.C.
Trump's comments come just a day after he announced plans for the United States to establish " food hubs " in Gaza and after publicly contradicting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's claim that there is no hunger in the enclave.
