How much did the power sell on April 1 and 2? KESh director gives higher figure

Albanian Energy Corporation Director KESH Ergys Verdho acknowledged that Albania sold electricity on 1 and 2 April, but gave another sale price from the one that at least publicly appears on the official corporate website he runs.

"Some 10 thousand and 50 mega, KESH on dates 1 and 2 has been forced to export them at market prices that resulted on average at 157.97 euros, while Hungary's stock exchange was 167.95 euros", stated the head of the ECSh during the meeting of the Energy Committee this Tuesday.

But the average sales figure stated by Ergys Verdho does not match the prices in official public documents that KESh itself has published on the official website.

As reported on 1 April, Voxnews.al, KESH has sold 10,230 megawatts of power for 1 and 2 April through open tenders in three lots, which at an average price is about 130 euros megawatt. The first lot was sold for 130 euros, in the second lot the price of the prize was 157 euros and in the third lot about the sale price of a megawatt was about 100 euros.

The price at which Albania has sold power on this two date is 2.5 to 3 times lower than the price at which it has bought power yes for 2 April through an open tender on 28 March.

Albania is officially in an energy crisis, announced as early as October last year. Causes have been made, according to Prime Minister Edi Rama's official reasoning and statements, drought and low domestic production from hydropower plants and rising energy prices in international markets.

However, an optimistic situation was presented at the Energy Committee meeting. Minister Balluku spoke of two U.S. ships that will dock in Triport, Vlora, which will produce power and connect to the distribution network. The ships, according to her, have been rented for two years and will produce energy when the country needs it.

The ships will be provided by the company that has taken over the conversion of Vlora's TEC into TEC gas-fired power generation, but details on rental costs were not provided.
