90 thousand square meters of public property in Lalzi Bay, one of the most coveted areas of the Albanian coast, will be given to a 'strategic investor' for 30 years.

This is the decision taken by the Council of Strategic Investments. The company that has benefited from the state property, where about 28 hectares of the green belt of the coast will be deforested, is not unknown.

"Omnix Albania" has gained the status of a strategic investor and has received the green light to build a five-star hotel, swimming pools, complexes and residences in this area for only 1 euro.

But who is behind 'Omnix Albania'? In 2016, the company was represented by the American-Lebanese investor, Faad Mitri. He had promised an investment of 450 million euros in this area for the same land.

In this year, he was brutally beaten by a group of people on the street of Rinas. The authorship was never revealed, but it is suspected that Aleksandër Laho, known as Rrumi i Shijak, was among the persons.

Faad Mitri left with broken legs and other severe bruises on his body, declaring his withdrawal from the investment. Mitri is gone, but the idea to rob public property has been revived through the decision of the Strategic Investments Committee, taken in July of this year, but made public only now.

In the decision made on July 28 of this year, the company receives the status of strategic investor with the promise to invest 216 million euros. Also, the decision states that the construction permit obtained by the National Council of the Territory in 2016 and other decisions of the Government of the same year will be applied for the realization.

The company is currently owned by three companies. Matrix Construction owned by Arian Leskajt, Klar owned by Shkëlqim Beshir, RDA Petrol owned by Fation Veizaj and Kujtim Lale and the Lebanese Jamal Abdulsalam M Abuiss.
