Infrastructure Minister Belinda Balluku indirectly acknowledged that turning Rinas' road into a one-way street has been a request of Shefqes Castrati, who owns the Rinas Airport concession.

Voxnews.al denounced in a letter Wednesday allegations that this idea could have been floated by Castrati and explained through evidence provided by taxists who often use this route that the source of traffic was actually the circumvention at the entrance to the Airport.

For this reason, Minister Balluku said ARRSh has proposed an emergency solution for the construction of a provisional road that will lead directly to the airport and airport car parks vehicles intended for Rinas.

"We will build access that sends a good portion of traffic directly to Rinas airport to park in the parking lots that are located around the airport today, or that will be built by the concessionaire in the future with urgency, just as we have requested," Balluku said.

So, according to this statement by Minister Balluku, the parking lots at Rinas Airport are insufficient and therefore a source of traffic on The Road of Rinas. For this, the government has asked Castratto to build new parking lots with emergency.

But for this solution to be found that forces Castrat to spend some parking money on the proceeds that benefit from the concession, it took an absurd decision that blocked hundreds of residents and protests for four days in a row from them.

Meanwhile, as it is up to travellers who use Rinas' way to go north, Balluku sought their understanding and invited them to use the road from Kamza, or from Vora.

"Vehicles coming or heading north are suggested to pass through Kamza and Vora, so as not to prevent citizens addressing mother teresa airport, as this road is built by the concessionary and is in the service of the Airport and the residents of the area," Balluku said.

Rinas has recorded over 100 daily flights these days, with about 15,000 passengers per day, while further increases in flow are forecast.
