40 years ago, on January 17, 1982, on Sunday evening, in Untergrupenbach in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, Jusuf Gërvalla, his brother Bardhosh Gërvalla and Kadri Zeka were shot dead. The attack was carried out while Bardhoshi was taking the car out of the garage, walking backwards. Meanwhile, a person opened fire at close range on the brothers Gervalla and Kadri Zeka who were in the car. Another person then approaches the car, shooting at it, to make sure the three people sitting inside were killed.
Bardhoshi and Kadriu died immediately, while Yusufi managed to get to the hospital alive. He did not survive his injuries and died a few hours later. According to the German police spokesman, who spoke about the incident, before he died, Yusufi had accused the Yugoslav UDB of the assassination.
In the document that we are publishing today, extracted from the Archive of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which is dated February 8, 1982, we understand how the State Security evaluated this event.
First of all, we see that the Gërvalla brothers, but also Kadri Zeka had secret contacts with the Security residency in Vienna, which also covered the work in West Germany because at this time diplomatic relations with West Germany had not yet been established. Consequently, there was no Albanian embassy in Bonn. Further in the report, it is noted that the resident of the Security, but also the victims themselves, had not taken care to protect themselves: "From such a job, rumors also arise that these are the leaders of the workers, they deal with the organization of patriotic actions, organize demonstrations, introduce literature in Kosovo, that these people take out the lighters, etc.",written in the notice. It is interesting to emphasize the fact that, before their murder, the State Security resident who kept the Gërvalla and Zeka brothers in touch, was threatened with his life via telephone.
The Security Residency in Vienna announces that " The murder was organized by the UDB". So, he is very confident about this and does not write that "we think that", or "it is possible", as is usually used in the language of the secret services, when providing information on any event.

As you may know, the three Kosovar women who were killed were kept in touch by friend EngjellKoloneci. For these three and Ibrahim Kelmendin, the information that I have informed you has come out. Likewise, I have informed them what was said about our friend's work with them, about the things circulating for exposure, etc. Based on what it turned out, we withdraw these preliminary thoughts:
1. The work and contacts of our friend took on a secret agent character from the beginning because the meetings were held outside the headquarters and in full conspiracy. These have been kept secret even from friends at the embassy here. It is preferable to move with Kosovars than with our friends for contact with them. So when he was in Munich, he went from here to Stuttgart with a Kosovar at night, with three diplomats from us also being there. Some of these, like K. Zekes, have also been visited at home. This has caused interest and curiosity among them for these relationships.
2. Since the three victims were met everywhere in Austria, Germany and Switzerland, there were also urgent movements going to them in the places where they were. We think that not much care has been taken to preserve the jobs themselves. They themselves have spoken about these contacts with friend EngjellKoloneci.
3. Rumors arise from such a job that these are the leaders of the workplaces, they deal with the organization of patriotic actions, organize demonstrations, introduce literature into Kosovo, that these are the ones who bring out the lighters, etc.
4. Despite the warnings, no measures were taken to reduce and prevent the growing voices that the activity outside is directed by them and they are helped by us. Not only that, but also the authorization to move and go anywhere without obtaining the approval of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
5. The efforts that were made to bring them together in a single center for the creation of a committee, without knowing deeply the position of each one and their ideological political beliefs, brought out and created problems between them. These efforts make known the work of people and groups, which can also bring their exposure and the connections they have with our friend, before the UDB, because we think there should be an agent among them.
6. The phone call made for sharp actions towards our friend had to be taken seriously, in addition to taking care to protect ourselves, we think that in the form of different roads they should also have been signaled to guard against the sharp tendencies of the UDB.
7. Their murder was organized by the UDB.
8. We think that we will analyze the materials collected in the center and draw tasks for our work.
Comrade M. Caka writes: What else is this, make an information about Comrade Ramiz and give it to Comrade Hekuran to see first.
Friend Jorgaq notes: They are taken out and placed in their fascicles. Comrade Mitroben is wrong to raise these issues in this spirit. He must inform the Central Committee himself.
