The counting process for the mayor has officially ended in 44 municipalities of the country, while the socialists have won the majority of the municipalities.

But what are the municipalities, democratic bastions that have been 'broken' by the Socialist Party?

The number one bastion of the democrats was Shkodra, which was also their 'castle' that could withstand every storm. This city, which has been led by the democrats since the 90s, will now be led by Benet Beci, candidate of the Socialist Party.

The district of Dibra in the political history is known as a stronghold of the democrats, where the break started in 2013 when the Socialist Party won power.

These elections, SP won in this district 4-0. Socialists will run the Municipality of Peshkopia, Burrel, Klos and Bulqiza.

Even Lezha has been one of the strongholds of the Democratic Party. In the local elections of 2019, Pjerin Ndreu was the winner, just like in these elections, Lezha will be led by Ndreu again.

Tropoja was considered one of the cities with democratic voters and convictions, a place historically known as a right-wing bastion, the birthplace of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, but Rexh Byberi presided and in the local elections of 2019 won to lead the municipality of Tropoja.

The socialists have also won Kukës, one of the cities that for years was led by democrats, the socialists have also won Kukës.
