The European Union makes a blind eye of a deaf ear in the face of exemplary irregularities in serbian presidential and parliamentary elections, where at least 6,000 Albanians in the Kumanovo Valley were denied the right to vote.
Despite activists' calls and complaints about the irregularities that accompanied the whole process, in Brussels Alexander Vucic is the winner of these elections and apparently, is not the ideal collaborator, but the best possible.
Among the first to convey to Vucic congratulations on the victory along with the willingness to co-operate on the path of deepening reforms in Serbia is Enlargement Commissioner Oliver Varhelyi.
"Congratulations to President Alexander Vucic! We look forward to co-operating with the new government to push ahead with the strategic decision of EU membership. We will support energy, economy, food security reforms in Serbia," Varhelyi writes.
Ironic is the fact that Oliver Varhelyi, of Hungarian nationality, has first congratulated Alexander Vucic on the victory, while he has not said a word so far about Viktor Orban's victory in Hungary, despite both leaders being considered pro-Putin.
