Fate Velaj or Ermal Dredha? Edi Rama puts it on Saturday in Vlora

The selection of candidates for municipalities in Vlora District is turning into a headache for Edi Rama . Three of the five municipalities are unable to find a consensus on the name of the candidate. In Saranda, a big fight has started between the current mayor and the candidate that Blendi Klosi is proposing .

In Selenica, there is a fight between Klos and deputy Vullnet Sinaj since they both have the same name. However, the most serious situation is in Vlora, since Klosi had a clash with Edi Rama.

For several months, Blendi Klosi , after the intervention of Gramoz Ruçi and Taulant Balla , has been trying to appoint the Albanian ambassador to the United Arab Emirates , Ermal Dredha , as a candidate .

Dredha, for years engaged in diplomacy and separated from the city of Vlora, does not enjoy support among the socialists and does not meet the two main criteria established, which are contributions to the party and living in Vlora. In order to complete this second, Dredha has only in the last few weeks moved the civil status to Vlora.

All this has provoked a strong reaction in the grassroots, not accepting Klos's proposal. On the other hand, Edi Rama targeted Fate Velaj as the candidate of the Socialist Party for the municipality of the coastal city, who fulfills the criteria, both for the contribution made in the community and within the party, as well as that of the resident.

He also holds the Knight's Gold Cross of the First Class awarded by the Austrian Presidency in 2013, while he received the Honor of the Republic medal from the Austrian government.

Velaj is known in the international arena as a creator of political-cultural strategies and initiatives , creator and moderator of conferences as well as curator of international exhibitions.

Burime nga selia e rozë bëjnë me dije se zgjedhja e Ramës është Fate Velaj për të qenë kandidat. Lidhur me këtë Rama ka thënë se me Bashkinë e Vlorës do të merret personalisht për t’i dhënë këtij qyteti një pamje europiane, si në infrastrukturë dhe në mentalitet.
