Edi Rama continues to strip Ahmetaj of the positions he holds. After the government's dismissal, the former vice president. The Prime Minister and Minister of Reconstruction has also left the post of political leader of The District of Vlora for the Socialist Party.
Voxnews.al sources confirm that the decision was made by the chief socialist Rama, before he left for Belgrade to attend the next summit within the Open Balkans and officialisation is expected once Rama arrives in Albania.
Officialisation could arrive early next week, when Rama is expected to hold a meeting of the Socialist Party Assembly.
Ahmetaj replaced Damian Gjiknur as political leader of the Socialists in Vlora. But almost in the early days of the new task he enjoyed neither faith nor support, not only of the party base, but neither of the eight deputies of the district.
Sources Voxnews.al claim that through the kulis and intrigues, Ahmetaj disbanded the group of SP MPs, who have been slammed for his direction of the party branch. Sources say the state of the party branch, on the eve of next year's local elections, is weighed down by the divisions of resentment, so much so that even the county deputies themselves do not speak to each other.
"There is no coordination, sympathizers and citizens are ignored. They're not heard. The base is perverse and disoriented throughout the county, and all this when it takes a few months from the elections and the responsibility for this is the political leader of the district," the sources say.
For this reason, the base has raised its concerns Eddie Rama by warning him that if the situation in the political direction of the district does not change, the disruption could also cost in the loss of any district municipality in next year's elections. In this case the PS has little chance of losing Vlora, as its historic bastion, but other municipalities such as Himara, or Saranda can be issued.
Faced with these concerns, Rama did not stay indifferent and a few days ago, confirm for Voxnews.al sources from the SP, there was a communication with Ahmetaj. In this communication Rama's order for Ahmetaj was clear and clear: "Don't see you there again!", Prime Minister Mehmed Ahmetaj was quoted as saying, implying that he would no longer step in Vlora, at least not as political leader of the Socialist district.
Rama has boycotted at least since June (when Ahmetaj was still in government) meetings with the SP base in Vlora in the presence of Ahmetaj. He even boycotted the SP's Expanded Assembly, where new local leaders were elected.
Sources say That The Ahmetaj's arrogant intervention in the process of selecting new party leaders in this district was the culmination of all the divisive process that had been sparked within The Socialists of Vlora, which with the appointment of Ahmetaj as district leader, after last year's parliamentary elections.
