Can the tourist season in Albania be considered a failure?

The tourist season this year in Albania has been a failure according to the opinion of VOXnews readers in our survey. To the YES or NO question of the survey on the topic: 'Can the tourist season in Albania be considered a failure?' have been answered so far by more than 500 readers where over 70% of them have been for YES.

A reaction that for tourism institutions should be reflection and measures to be taken for the next season. The resignation of the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Ornela Çuçi, is not enough as a solution to the events that happened this summer.

This summer there were many protests because of the terrible event, where a 7-year-old girl was killed by a boat driven by a policeman.

The protestors gave an ultimatum to Rama to fire Chuc within 48 hours and he fired another Chuc, not from the Ministry of Interior but from Tourism.

During the weekdays in Velipoja, Shengjin, Dhërmi, Jalë or Himare, vacationers were fewer, while several accidents with boats added to the uncertainty.

The statement of the Minister of Tourism Mirela Kumbaro, who claimed that she had turned the way for tourists this year from Greece to Albania, was surprising.

"It is very interesting the fact that practically many flows that were going to Greece are returning to Albania, due to the rough climate," said Kumbaro in a statement that inspired several memes on social networks.

What was seen as a statement out of reality was Rama when, in the reaction to the death of Jonada Avdi in Potam, he said between the lines that this year was also "the calmest and safest season, with the public beaches and the network of beach watchers the beach organized like never before".

It is not known where our governors saw the peace, perhaps from their villas, which are guarded by the guard for the citizens, apparently, and from the response to the survey, it was a failure.
