The Democratic Party has started the primaries process to decide on the candidates who will face the Socialists in the elections of May 14 next year.

The process started with the slogan 'You decide, the mayor doesn't decide', at least for Tirana, will not be implemented. Belind Kelliçi announced his candidacy with a speech that made it a fact that he would be facing Erion Veliaj, not even formally waiting for the primary voting process.

Kelliçi is the name that enjoys the support of both Sali Berisha and Ilir Meta, as their confidant. He showed his loyalty to Berisha when he joined the pulpit in its first days, while to Meta when the latter published the message sent to him by the DP deputy on January 8, during the fight to take over the DP headquarters.

But Berisha and Meta are his supporters in the opposition. Kelliçi, in his lack of support, has several threads that connect him with the socialists. One of them is the indirect connection he had with the government, through the Minister of Infrastructure, Belinda Balluku.

Balluku was connected to the minister by his brother Reshard Kelliçi's work as a consultant at the AlbGaz company, 100 percent owned by the Ministry of Energy. The flow of salaries in April last year showed that Belind Këlliç's brother had a collaboration against a salary of 1.9 million ALL.

It was rumored in the media that between Belinda Kelliçi and Belinda Balluku there was coordination during the electoral campaign for the April 25 elections, where the DP deputy left the minister a free area in Kombinat, while the minister left her a free area in Yzberish, the area of Astir and the villages of Kashar.

Belinda Balluku received 15 thousand 361 votes from these elections, while Belind Kelliçi received 11 thousand 601 votes and both broke the quotient of 10 thousand votes.

Already in the role of the opposition and the mandate of the deputy in the Assembly, Belind Kelliçi has started the political battle against the Government. In the accusations pronounced by him in these months, he has included all the ministers and the main leaders of the socialist majority, with the exception of the name of Belinda Balluku.

However, less than two years after receiving the mandate of deputy, Belind Këlliçi is ready to give up and run against Erion Veliaj, who in the declaration announcing his candidacy he described as the worst model of renaissance.

Today, it is already an open secret that Belinda Balluku is also among the socialists who have no sympathy for Erion Veliaj. The reasons are said to be the internal ambitions of the Deputy Prime Minister, which Veliaj sees as an obstacle to their realization.

This may be the reason why the name of Belind Kelliçi as a candidate can be used by Balluku, if not to support him, at least to sabotage the campaign of 'Lali Eri'.
