There are no prison police, the Ministry of Justice requests the removal of the age limit

The Ministry of Justice again proposes to change the law on the prison police, two years after setting the ceiling age of 35 years to become part of this structure.

The new proposal removes this limit, which was approved in 2020. The reason is the marked lack of prison police officers.

There are at least 300 new employees needed by the prison police and the positions have not been filled despite constant appeals, promises of salary increases and other bonuses from the Ministry.

The law on prison police has changed several times, while the government has promised to increase their salaries as many times.

The only increase was announced in September this year.
