February 16 marks 5 years since one of the biggest protests organized by the Democratic Party, during the leadership of Lulzim Basha.
At that time, the Democratic Party and its allies in the opposition would say that this protest would be the starting point of an "uprising" until the overthrow of the government.
The protest that marked several incidents, where the citizens managed to cross the police cordon and climb to the door of the prime minister, the premises inside which were filled by the Rapid Intervention Forces, who would throw tear gas and pepper spray at the protesters. The protestors would try several times to enter the prime minister's office, the windows of the door of which were broken, but they were unable to do so. The protest of 5 years ago would be characterized by flames and smoke, but it would not succeed in overthrowing the government. What fell then was the mushroom in the yard of the Prime Minister. Edi Rama ridiculed the opposition action at that time and raised the mushroom again, this time even bigger.
Five years later, the mushroom is still there and Edi Rama still in power, even with the fresh confirmation of Antony Blinken as a great leader. Five years later, the opposition calls again for a national protest on the day of the fall of the dictator Enver Hoxha's statue.
The protest has been called with Berisha under house arrest, Basha who opposes the protests, allies divided and...the seal is still looking for its owner.
