6 customs points of the country will undergo transformation again. ARSSH has announced a tender that envisages the rehabilitation of the main squares and areas near the Albanian customs

The Albanian Road Authority has announced the tender for the rehabilitation of the main squares and areas near the Albanian customs points. The tender has a limited fund of ALL 249.4 million and foresees rehabilitation interventions at the border points Morinë, Kapshticë, Kakavijë, Hani I Hotit, Qafë-Thane and Muriqan.

Albania has about 19 land border crossing points with Montenegro, Kosovo, North Macedonia and Greece, 4 ports that serve as sea crossing points in the Port of Durrës, Vlora, Saranda and Shengjin and 2 air crossing points that are the international airport of Rinas and that of Kukes.

In recent years, investments have been continuously made to improve the conditions of cross-border crossing points, both land, sea and air. Also, the procedures for reducing the waiting time at the border to the maximum have been facilitated, as well as the physical conditions of the crossing points have been improved.

But, as evidenced in the tender relation, there is still room to further improve the physical conditions and the service that can be offered in them, if we consider them not simply as crossing points, but as hospitality and conveyance corridors, which should be overview of Albanian hospitality and reflection of state policies in tourism.
