IMF's gloomy report: Albania's economic growth forecast significantly lowered

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has revised downwards its forecast for Albania's economic growth in 2025.

According to the latest Global Economic Outlook report for October, just released, the Albanian economy is forecast to expand by 3.4%, down from the 3.8% expected in the spring report.

In contrast, the expectation for 2026 has been revised slightly upward, with the domestic economy now forecast to expand by 3.6%, up from 3.5% in the spring report.

Average annual inflation is expected to increase slightly to 2.3%, from 2.2% in 2024, and jump to 2.8% in 2026.

In the region, Kosovo is expected to have the highest growth, with 3.9% in 2025 and 4% in 2026.

North Macedonia is expected to have the same growth as Albania with 3.4% in 2025. In Montenegro the performance is expected at 3.2% in 2025.

Bosnia and Herzegovina's economy will expand by 2.4% in 2025 and 2.7% in 2026. Serbia is also expected to grow at the same levels of 2.4% in 2025. / Taken with abbreviations from monitor.al
