US President Donald Trump's daughter, Ivanka Trump, spoke two days ago to American entrepreneur and podcaster David Senra about investing in the island of Sazan in southern Albania.
In a lengthy interview published on May 31st on Senra's YouTube channel, focused on entrepreneurship and family business management, Ivanka Trump recounted how she found herself on the island and then her fascination with nature and the potential she saw in this place.
She talks about a gigantic project on this island in the Mediterranean, but that they have approached everything with great restraint and care because the architecture must be best integrated with nature.
"I'm working on an incredible project with my husband in the Mediterranean. It's gigantic... It's a private, beautiful 1,400-hectare island in the middle of the Mediterranean. We were on a friend's boat and stopped for a swim and that's how we found it.
"We swam to the island, climbed to the top and were just mesmerized and it stayed with us ever since. Over the years we developed the ability to understand its potential and its transformation, but with a lot of restraint and caution because the land is so beautiful and really the architecture has to be completely integrated into it, almost born from it," Ivanka Trump declares.
Elaborating on her vision for Sazani, she said that she wants something that is both beautiful, but also for people, the way they want to live, and for this reason she stated that she is working with the best architects that exist today.
"I feel it more as a challenge than anything else. The culmination of all my experience in real estate, all my travels, a lot of reflection on how I want to live, how I think people increasingly want to live and trying to build something that is a tangible manifestation of that. It takes a lot of vision, the collaboration of some of the best experts that exist."
"So I was there, walking the land, trying to be with it and feel it alongside some of the most brilliant architects that exist, true experts in their work, people with absolute integrity who don't compromise, and that's something we want to create there. So we're very enthusiastic," she said.
