The General Directorate of Taxes has set reference salaries for each of these categories of professions. Thus, a barber cannot declare less than 75 thousand lek salary per month. The same goes for a hairdresser. For beauticians, cosmetologists and "make-up artists" the reference salary is 80 thousand lek. The same for aerobics or dance instructors. For personal instructors in the gym, a salary of 120 thousand lek per month has been set.
"This list will serve as a reference instrument for risk analysis, with the aim of identifying possible cases of non-declaration of real salaries of employees. In this context, the Tax Administration will analyze the data declared in the payrolls of entities operating in these sectors, comparing them with the indicative salary levels according to the respective professions," the Tax Administration's announcement states.
In medicine, floor salaries range from 80 thousand lek for support profiles to 215 thousand lek for more specialized professions such as advanced surgery and anesthesiology. Specialties such as cardiology, neurology or gastroenterology are set at around 200 thousand lek, while a general practitioner is calculated at 163 thousand lek.
"Taxpayers who declare salaries below the indicative salary level for the relevant professions, or who change the categorization of the employee's profession in order to declare a lower salary, will be considered at risk and will be subject to verification by specialized structures of the Tax Administration," the announcement continues.

At the end of March, the Director General of Taxes, Ilir Binaj, announced the launch of controls that will include around 10 thousand taxpayers and approximately 45 thousand employees in these sectors.
