Oil 214 lekë, Government restores Transparency Board, excise duty will be

The government has decided to establish the Transparency Board after the price of oil on the market reached 214 lek.

The statement was made by the Minister of Economy, Delina Ibrahimi, during a live broadcast on Top Story on Top Channel.

"I have just come out of a long meeting at the Prime Minister's Office, with the Prime Minister, the Minister of Finance, the Minister of Energy, to analyze the situation in detail. Looking at the progress of the last few days and the impact of the attacks of the last few days, we have decided to establish the Transparency Board. The Board is established by decision of the Council of Ministers.

We have decided to intervene in the excise tax price by reducing it to 20%. There are two acts that will be submitted to the Council of Ministers. The excise tax is 40 lek and will be reduced to 20%. We will take into account taxes and for the wholesale price there will be a margin of 3 lek per liter, while for the retail price 12 lek per liter. Through this mechanism, we guarantee that prices will be controlled and there will be no abuse", declared Ibrahimaj.

"The Board meets whenever there is a significant change in the stock exchange price to determine the prices that are the ceiling and above which trading cannot take place. Violation by traders of the prices approved by the Transparency Board constitutes a penalty that leads to the suspension of the license."
