The low number of student registrations in the country's faculties has led to a noticeable decrease in the income collected by educational institutions. According to the data published by the Ministry of Finance, during the January-September period, about 612 million ALL were collected from student registration fees.

Compared to the same period a year ago, these revenues have suffered a reduction of about 66 million ALL, or about 10% less. This significant decrease is a consequence of the low number of registrations for the academic year 2024-2025.

According to statistics, out of 30,700 free quotas offered, only 20,000 students chose to continue their studies at one of the country's faculties. The low interest in some fields of study is worrying; in particular, those of foreign languages and some engineering branches, such as physics, chemistry, mathematics and geological engineering, have attracted fewer young people.

On the other hand, a part of the graduates chose to pursue their studies in faculties abroad.
