End-of-year bonus for retirees, 5,000 ALL reward for over 700,000 beneficiaries

On the eve of the end-of-year holidays, pensioners will receive 5,000 ALL in compensation. In the 2023 budget, 3.5 billion lek in total have been programmed that will go to the bonus of the third age, but the beneficiaries will also be individuals with disability pension, persons treated with family pension and social pension, miners who have retired according to law 150, oil workers, metallurgists, former soldiers, etc.

This will be the third intervention within a year, since the government has distributed another bonus in April of this year, in the amount of 5 thousand lek, which was made possible by the collection of income from the extraordinary tax on large exporters of energy.

While, in the month of September, the Administrative Council of the Institute of Social Insurance approved the decision for the indexation of all categories of pensions, which the Institute of Social Insurance covers, according to the legislation in force.

For the period August 2022-August 2023, the consumer price index of the basket of goods and services for pensioners, calculated by INSTAT, resulted in 8.6%. From October 1, 2023, over 767 thousand individuals of all pension categories have benefited from indexation to this extent.

Even the social pension, which is benefited by Albanian residents over the age of 70, who have no income, increased by being calculated to 9,327 ALL or 739 ALL more, where 2,499 people were beneficiaries, on a national scale.
