60.7 percent more foreigners in November, added net-stays

Closing the year 2023 with a record number of visitors that exceeded 10 million, has had a positive impact on the accommodation structures, which have had higher attendance even in the last months of the year.

Data reported by the Institute of Statistics for accommodation structures show that in November non-residents in hotels increased by 60.7 percent. INSTAT estimates that the total number of visitors has increased by 43.5%, compared to November 2022.

From this, the number of resident visitors increased by 26.0%, while the number of non-resident visitors increased by 60.3%.

There has also been an increase in the number of overnight stays, which for November 2023 was 79.8%, compared to November 2022. The number of overnight stays by residents has increased by 55.7%, while the number of overnight stays by non-residents has increased by 97. 5%.

During the month of November 2023, INSTAT estimates that there was an increase in the number of visitors in total by 43.5%, compared to November 2022.

"The number of non-resident visitors who have been accommodated in the Center Region has increased by 65.3%. In non-coastal areas, this indicator has increased by 65.4%, compared to the same period of the previous year. The number of non-resident visitors who have been accommodated in "Hotels and similar accommodations" has increased by 60.7%," the announcement states.

In November 2023, the highest number of visitors results: according to regions in the "Center Region" (52.0%); according to areas close to the coast in "Non-coastal areas" (65.4%); according to the type of accommodation structures in "Hotels and similar accommodations" (97.1%)", INSTAT estimates.

Night stays

"During the month of November 2023, the total number of overnight stays increased by 79.8%, compared to the month of November 2022. The number of overnight stays of non-resident visitors who were accommodated in the Central Region increased by 91.5% . In non-coastal areas, this indicator has increased by 2.3 times, compared to the same period of the previous year. The number of nights of non-resident visitors who were accommodated in "Hotels and similar accommodations" has increased by 98.5%.

In November 2023, the highest number of overnight stays was realized: according to regions in the "Center Region" (57.6%); according to areas close to the coast in "Non-coastal areas" (63.4%); according to the type of accommodation structures in "Hotels and similar accommodations" (97.9%)", underlines INSTAT.

Net utilization rate

The higher tourist flow in relation to November 2022 is also clearly seen from the net rate of use of rooms and beds that have increased in November 2023.

"The net utilization rates, of rooms and beds, are two indicators that measure the percentage of utilization of accommodation capacities, rooms and beds available for visitors. During this month, the occupancy rate of "Hotels and similar accommodations" rooms is 12.7%, compared to 9.7% in November 2022. The occupancy rate of "Hotels and similar accommodations" beds is 16 .2%, compared to 9.1% that was in November 2022," the announcement states.
