Sali Berisha today tried to defend the sea agreement with Greece signed in 2009, accusing Turkey of destroying it. It is about the agreement that was rejected by the Constitutional Court of Albania, signed by Berisha and Karamalis in 2009, which was declared unconstitutional.

New talks between Ditmir Bushati and Kocia until 2018 did not yield results and later Rama and Micotaqis decided that the case should be resolved by the International Court.

In principle, this is now a matter in the hands of justice and both sides will accept its verdict.

The Greek side defends Berisha's agreement, the Albanian side demands something more. The decision will be either with one party, or with the other, or something in between. In any case, the Greek side has the maximum demand for what Berisha has given. So the Greek side, and Berisha, have the same request.

Today, Berisha seemed more upset than the Greek side for rejecting that agreement and accused Turkey of breaking it. Today, he is "Zografi biss", as Edi Rama used to mock him, who accused him of negotiating the sale of the sea to Greece.

Why is Sali Berisha suddenly accusing Turkey of breaking that agreement?

The truth is that Turkey has had no mechanism to influence our Constitutional Court. None of their representatives has contacted the Court. According to the cables discovered by Wikileaks, the only diplomats interested in the agreement were the Americans. Even for them, there is no fact that they influenced the Court, but it is clear from their reports that they viewed that agreement with concern.

And Sali Berisha knows this story. Even when the agreement was rejected, he spread word to the people that he had influenced the Court himself, since he had no way of working behind the Greeks' backs.

Now engaged in a life and death struggle with the US, he is trying to incriminate Turkey in a battle that is not its own, because of the bad reputation that Turkey may have in the international court and to present the case as a rivalry. Balkan.

The fear that if he says that the US has been interested in breaking that agreement he may lose the battle in court, pushes him to a political improvisation, from which there are two benefits.

The first, hopes that it will poison the climate of Albanian-Greek relations and will help the court to look at this issue as an intervention by Turkey, leaving Berisha's agreement with Greece in effect.

And secondly, he tries to appear as the man of Greece in Albania, identifying Edi Rama with Erdogan and Turkey.

I don't know how convincing it is for Greece, since the Greeks themselves have asked for Rama's help to calm down the blood with Turkey, but he hopes that the only way to take revenge on the US for this is to involve Turkey in an issue of Albania's sovereignty, for not presenting it as a Balkan scenario for "neo Ottomanism".

It's all one of those desperate daily struggles of his.

Fortunately, Albanian-Greek relations are very good and are on the way to permanent consolidation as friendly countries, from the crisis since Sali Berisha fled from power in 1997, who declared a state of war with Greece, the second after the declaration of war against Greece in 1940 on behalf of Italy by Mustafa Kruja. Then he boasted that Greece had nothing to do to him, that he had Turkey. Even in '97 he quoted Tansu Çilleri every day.

In 1994, Sali Berisha sent the army to the border with Greece and issued visas to Greek citizens, because Fred Bejleri and a group of Greek nationalist militants took over the attack on a military unit in Peshkepi in Gjirokastër, where three Albanian soldiers were killed. Now, after 30 years, Sali Berisha has Fred Beleri as the DP candidate for the Municipality of Himara and tries to declare the Albanian government an ally of Turkey against Greece.

He did not think it badly as a scheme, but it is inedible on all sides. Initially unswallowed by Fred Beleri, who wants to take away the only heroism he has done as a Greek nationalist. It is also unacceptable for the Greek side, which has the last enmity with Albania because of Sali Berisha. But above all, the "democrats" who, when insulting Edi Rama, call him "Greek shit" with all their heart, because this is the most outrageous insult they know. Even more so because he comes from a tribe with Dendias from Vunoi.

It is never too late to apologize to Greece for the hostility it has sown at the expense of the Albanian people towards it, but there is no time to be like Fred Beleri, like Adem Jashari, like Skenderbeu, at the same time.

Every now and then he has chosen to be like Fred Beleri. Thank you. Maybe they will allow the boy to build the lands he has in Himare and Dhërmi. They didn't go to work for anything else.
