The parliamentary elections of May 11th are over. The winner and losers are clear and within expectations. A well-organized SP in terms of purpose and strategy to maintain power, not only won the elections, but also strengthened its political position in relation to the opposition that tried harder to create the perception that it is ready to rotate.
In fact, Albanians are apparently not looking for rotation but for change. And this change cannot be brought about by Sali Berisha with his worn-out figures around him, whom he keeps for loyalty and to have the sure shoulders that the party is controlled by his grouping.
So it is a kind of feudal concept, that this political force is ours and will be led by us. The DP continues to walk on this principle under the leadership of Berisha, who also invented the pre-election slogan "now it is our turn". Power is not a matter of turn, because if it were a matter of turn, then this standard should also be applied within the DP.
Now it's the turn of others, doctor, because you have accomplished your mission with your good and bad. The sooner you accept this, the sooner the regeneration of the DP as the main and major opposition force in Albania can begin. Let's accept every claim by the opposition that the SP has created a sophisticated machinery and industry to manipulate elections and voters. Is this enough to console yourself and to politically suffocate?! This requires solutions, not complaints.
Complaints lead nowhere. They will simply reconfirm the claims that the opposition has been making for 12 years and that do not produce any reaction in the electorate, since the credibility of the people who today represent the DP and that is considered the main opposition is very low and unconvincing. This includes many reasons that are not worth dwelling on, but it is important to understand that this opposition with this leadership, this vision and the selfishness and individual interest of some people who vegetate there is hardly hope for Albanians.
If a new team and a new leadership group with a new form, approach, and vision is not produced to speak to all Albanians and not just party militants, Edi Rama will win as many elections as he wants until he decides to tell himself that one day he will stop.
But until then, the responsibility that he holds power is not his but those who do not know how to win and considering the fact that Rama steals their elections. Politics is for smart people who find solutions, not those who complain. If your elections do not fulfill the mission, then someone else must be tried until the necessary and successful missionary, or missionaries, is found to undo Edi Rama's absolute power.
It is never too late to reflect, the country needs a real opposition, not a formal opposition that justifies its existence with political noise that produces no effect on the public. The solution exists, but it must be found and it can only be found by courageous people who first find a way to reform and revitalize the party, then the opposition, and finally to overthrow the government. Change starts with ourselves!
