The Deputy Director of Prisons, Femi Sufaj, has acknowledged the meeting between life-sentenced prisoner Laert Haxhiu and Kosovo model Ziza Pajaziti.
In an interview he gave to "ReportTv", Sufaj stated that the meeting took place but lasted very little.
And while the media is also circulating the initials of other screen girls who are being admitted to prison institutions, the Deputy Director of Prisons denies that there are other cases.
Sufaj says that during the month of June alone, 100 intimate meetings were held in prisons, referring only to meetings of prisoners with their wives or cohabitants, meetings that are permitted by law. Meanwhile, regarding Haxhiu's case, Sufaj says that the model in question came as a relative and was introduced to the meeting. According to him, it was not a prolonged meeting, but took place in the visiting rooms, emphasizing that the Directorate of Prisons has taken administrative measures after this case.
"In June, many meetings were held, with 7,000 or so meetings with family members, over 1,000 with lawyers, and 100 being intimate. According to the law, these intimate meetings are meetings that must be with the spouses or cohabitants of the convict. A violation of procedures was found in the Korça prison, which comes as a relative and enters the meeting. And we have taken our administrative positions and it has not been found to be a second case. It was not an extended meeting, but a meeting in the visiting room. We do not know why all this noise is happening," he said.
